Virtual Professional Development and Information on Upcoming Events

Our state and nation continue to battle the COVID-19 outbreak. As is both recommended and required by law, MOCHE has postponed all in-person events scheduled for the spring semester of 2020. These events include the March 24th History Education Communities discussion, the April 1st Visiting Scholars Event, and the April 21st Teaching Scholars Event. Thank you for your continued understanding.

Decisions on our June Library of Congress Institute will be made soon. As of now, we are still moving forward with planning for our fall conference in Columbia, MO. Please see the Call for Proposals here.

While it is impossible to get together in person this semester, MOCHE wants to continue our work supporting history education in Missouri. To this end, we are announcing our first Virtual History Education Communities discussion. On the evening of Tuesday, March 31st, at 7:00pm we will be holding an online discussion via Zoom. Entitled, “Teaching in a Time of Virtual Learning,” we hope this session will allow for collegial brainstorming as we all work to educate students for the remainder of the semester.

This (V)HEC event, as well as all virtual events during this time of social distancing, will be open to anyone who would like to attend. Membership in MOCHE is not required; please invite any colleagues that would be interested. If you would like to participate in this virtual discussion on Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00pm, please complete this Google Form with your name and email. We will send out a Zoom link to all who register.

Thank you for your continued commitment to educating our citizens.
